The Territorial Police in Rwizi Region and Mbarara CPS, have in custody, two suspects identififed as Kamuhanda Evans, aged 17 and Kamukama Apollo, aged 43, of Kaliba cell Bubaare sub-county, for the alleged torture and Attempted Murder of Amanya Charles, a 16 year old, peasant of Kabujye cell, Sheema district, on the 28.05.2024 at around 10am.
The suspects accused the victim for stealing their phones, which forced them to tie him on a tree, where they tortured him.
Later in the night, they dug a shallow grace, where they dumped and buried him. The victim managed to crawl out of the shallow grave, to a nearby shack, where he spent two days till the 30.05.2024, at around 6pm, that he was discovered and taken to police.
He was transferred to Bubaare Health Centre for treatment.
